Undertaker vs British Bulldog (WWF, 11-30-1991)

WWF, Hamilton or London, Ontario, Canada

A request! And a particularly neat one, I’ve never seen this match and it comes during Undertaker’s six-day run as WWF champion between Survivor Series ’91 and the failed This Tuesday in Texas PPV.

It’s interesting to watch the crowd’s very mixed reaction to Undertaker here in Ontario. (Not sure if this is the day’s show in Hamilton or the day’s show in London.) He’s still a full heel here, but you can tell people, including some kids, are starting to find him cool all of a year after his debut at Survivor Series ’90.

(Requests open and tips always appreciated!)

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (WWE, 3-29-2015)

WWE WrestleMania 31, Santa Clara, CA

A request! One year after Cesaro’s incredible win in the first “The Andre,” it’s back! A great tradition! Now on the pre-show.

Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (WWE, 4-6-2014)

WWE WrestleMania XXX, New Orleans, LA

A request! Why? I don’t know! Some people are real battle royal perverts out there. And truth be told I’ve kinda enjoyed watching them more than I used to by doing #Blogging about it on this #Blog.

This is the first-ever “The Andre!” It went up third on the Mania card, back when it was still on the show proper, following Triple H vs Daniel Bryan and the Shield vs Grandpas three-minute special.

Abyss vs Kurt Angle (TNA, 11-9-2008)

TNA Turning Point, Orlando, FL

A request! I also got to change the category name from “Impact” to “TNA” because TNA is coming back, baby, yeah! Did you see these Old Nerds who were, like, “Gosh golly, I think ‘TNA’ is a bad brand name, and this is a poor idea, for the Market,” my dudes what in heaven’s name are you talking about?

Nobody has ever watched “Impact Wrestling” in their lives. For all the bad of “TNA” there is also a generation that remembers it extremely fondly. Not really me all that much, as I am also an Old Nerd, but there really people out there. And that is the strongest connection this company has ever made. Furthermore, this company has proven more truly death-resistant than any in history. This is not a company that could have shut down on several different occasions, it’s one that by all rights should have shut down on several different occasions.

Asuka vs Ember Moon (NXT, 8-19-2017)

NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, Brooklyn, NY

A request! This is a rematch from April, where Asuka beat Ember at the Orlando TakeOver during WrestleMania week, a good match where there was a lot left on the table to run it back later on, and this is later on.

Asuka still has the NXT women’s championship, which she’d held since April 1, 2016, making 16 successful defenses to this point, most recently a June win over Nikki Cross in a last woman standing match.

Asuka vs Ember Moon (NXT, 4-1-2017)

NXT TakeOver: Orlando, Orlando, FL

A request! I was in Orlando for this WrestleMania week, but I did not get to go to this, as I was covering whatever FloSlam were doing over at Orlando Live Events in Fern Park. I’m honestly not sure I’ve ever even watched this show!

Asuka is in the midst of her incredible and truly dominant NXT run, but Ember Moon was starting to look like a solid threat to that.

Triple H vs Jeff Hardy (WWE, 10-5-2008)

WWE No Mercy, Portland, OR

A request! I’ve probably never seen this. Right before this match is an Undertaker vs Big Show match where Big Show won a referee’s decision and Undertaker had to madly oversell being knocked out with his elderly guyliner, and Jim Ross is just livid, and I’m not in the moment so it’s all hilarious to me.

At Unforgiven the month prior, there was a goofy WWE championship scramble where, for a moment, The Brian Kendrick was The Current WWE Champion, and ultimately HHH wound up leaving with the belt he came in with, with Jeff Hardy coming very close to winning the big one.

So now we have this HUNT YOU DOWN WITHOUT MERCY HUNT YOU DOWN ALL NIGHTMARE LONG YEAH LET’S FUCKIN GO

The Miz & John Morrison vs The Boogeyman & CM Punk (ECW, 8-21-2007)

ECW on Sci Fi, Columbia, SC

A request! A two-pack of CM Punk and unusual tag partners in on “ECW.” Here we have Punk and his great friend, The Boogeyman, against John Morrison and The Miz, which airs just a few days after a Saturday Night’s Main Event where Punk and Boogeyman teamed against Morrison and Big Daddy V.

That’s the show that had the Evander Holyfield vs Matt Hardy boxing match, yes. This was all moving toward Morrison defending his ECW title against Punk at SummerSlam on the Sunday following this show.

Shelton Benjamin & Elijah Burke vs CM Punk & Ric Flair (ECW, 2-19-2008)

ECW on Sci Fi, San Diego, CA

A request! We’re back in business.

Joey Styles at the top of the show sounds like he’d rather be anywhere else on the planet when he calls this “ECW.” Then we get Ric Flair to join Tazzzzz in the ring to be congratulated for being named in the 2008 Hall of Fame class.

Dusty & Dustin Rhodes vs Terry Funk & Bunkhouse Buck (WCW, 8-24-1994)

WCW Clash of the Champions, Cedar Rapids, IA

Watching the Dusty/Dustin segment that was part of the video of that Sting/Steamboat vs Flair/Austin match made me want to watch this match again.

It really is one of the great promos and storylines you’ll ever see.
