Another mid-show title defense for Hart. Again, I will call Luger “The Total Package” in the headline because that was his name at this point, but I’m not calling him anything but Luger in the review.
Hart attacks while Luger is struggling with this breakaway pants, and beats him down, choking him in the corner. Hart pulls Luger out by the legs, drives the headbutt into the abdomen. Luger sent out to the floor, Bret follows.
Luger rammed into the guardrail in the entrance aisle. Luger rammed into the camera stand on the ring corner. Then the guardrail again. Hart breaks the count, then goes right back out. Right hand to the ribs. Right hand to the jaw. Luger reverses a whip, Hart hits the guardrail. Luger then rammed into the ring post. Headbutt to the back. And then back into the ring.
Luger begging off, but Hart punches him in the forehead. Rake across the top rope. Luger swings at nothing and misses, Hart goes to the lower back again, then another right hand to the jaw. Ass splash on the leg, hung over the bottom rope. He kicks Luger’s leg out of his leg. Elbowdrop to the knee. Hart dominating this match.
Quick leglock, Hart picks him up for the side backbreaker, and Luger gouges him in the eyes halfway through the move. Crowd standing, here comes Elizabeth as Luger stomps on Hart. Sting is following Elizabeth. Sting asks Liz to make a choice between him and Luger, and Liz quickly leaves with Sting. Luger, distracted, takes a Russian legsweep, sharpshooter, game over.
Rating: 1.5/5. Nothing match designed to do the Luger-Sting-Liz angle at the end.
