A request. I could have sworn this was 2023 but no, it was 2022. I suppose that’s the danger in letting your years run together. That and all the rest of the downsides of that.

I wasn’t as wildly into this whole thing as a lot of people but I didn’t hate it or whatever. Zayn was basically a comedy character at the time, who gives a shit? But I’m kinda interested in looking back on it.

A request! This is a “Pittsburgh Steel City Street Fight,” which I feel like could have been less clunky a title somehow, and is for the WWE tag belts held by Owens and Zayn.

Owens and Zayn have held the belts since beating the Usos at WrestleMania, of course, and now they are in the crosshairs of the Judgment Day.

A request! A match I’d totally forgotten about, but I did remember the food fight that opened the Independence Day Raw as soon as I saw Kevin Owens sitting at a table, before it all broke down, because I instantly remembered him calmly crawling under a table with a bag of Lay’s to ride out the storm. It was actually a really fun WWE goofy segment that they, as always, wound up taking one extra beat too far for it to hit as well as it could have.

Sara Del Rey vs El Generico (Chikara, 4-28-2012)

Chikara Hot off the Griddle, Chicago Ridge, IL

A request! The main event from the Frontier Fieldhouse, where Chikara got about 500 people in the building where Ring of Honor made their mark in Chicago(land area). It was a combo day where ROH had a show that night, where Chikara’s Hallowicked and Jigsaw faced the Briscoes in the main event and a bunch of other people worked double duty.

It’ll bug me if I don’t list everyone who worked both shows, so: Hallowicked, Jigsaw, Fire Ant, Green Ant, Soldier Ant, El Generico, Young Bucks, Kevin Steen, Bravado Brothers. Not Johnny Gargano, though. ROH had no room for him. Never did. (He worked a dark match against Sami Callihan in 2008 in Cleveland.)

Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens vs Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser (WWE, 6-12-2023)

From this past Monday! The main event of Raw! The tag team champs defend against Gunther and Kaiser of Imperium, set up with a little backstage bit earlier in the show, following the prior week’s terrific Gunther vs Owens match. Owens demanded that the belts be on the line, this was supposed to be non-title at first.

Kevin Steen & El Generico vs Young Bucks (ROH, 12-19-2009)

Request via Ko-fi. This is a match I do not believe I have ever seen. Not sure I’ve seen anything from this show, which was somewhat impacted by a blizzard in New York. The Bucks are still relatively new in ROH, been there about seven months and started pretty hot, established as a team to contend with. Steen and Generico are Steen and Generico.
