Nikki A.S.H. is defending her Raw women’s title as the lame duck champ, a distraction meant to allow the Flair-Ripley feud to continue without becoming too stale. The A.S.H. character is awful, but when you express that as an opinion, people go, “Well, Nikki thought of it herself,” as if this is a checkmate statement, one that makes it good. Wrestlers have lots of bad ideas, and Vince chuckling and putting the belt on her is no evidence of greatness, either. Crowds not really reacting to it (or reacting poorly) says plenty more.
