This is a request via Ko-fi. I chose this one because I like Tremont and I think Page is someone who is really good at having solid matches with weird opponents.
This starts fast with Page trying to jump Tremont upon Tremont’s ring entrance, but Matt drops him and drags him out to the floor, where the fight starts. Page still has his cool denim vest on. Page with a kick to the gut after they trade some shots, and then Tremont whips him into the ringpost. Tremont breaks a count because he’s a professional.
Page blocks a whip into the steps, goes in, and catches Tremont chasing with some stomps. Page smothers Tremont with the vest and now we’re getting into the meat of the match. Right hand from Page. More rights. Tremont reverses a whip to the corner, Page kicks up and over, catches Tremont with a back elbow. Tremont catches Page with a Samoan drop off the ropes for two.
Tremont with some rams into the corners as the commentators run down some of his accolades. More corner rams. More forearms and whatnot from Tremont. Page back with one of his own, then a boot to Tremont’s gut. Page hits a DDT for two.
Right hand trade, Tremont gets the better out of it. Page comes back with a cutter from the apron, using the bottom rope for momentum. Two count. Page goes for a piledriver on the apron, can’t get Tremont up. Tremont lifts him, Page slips out. Forearms from Page, Tremont teetering on the apron. Tremont misses a shoulder, gets kicked a couple times, then falls back in.
Page going up top! The high flyer! Tremont with a superplex! He eventually rolls over to pin, two count. Now they’re trading forearms on their knees. Up and still throwing the bombs. Page with a big kick to the face, Tremont back with another forearm, just absorbing the punishment. Page with another boot off the ropes, then another kick to the side of the head. Tremont hits a Death Valley Driver out of nowhere!
Page wisely rolls out of the ring. Tremont follows out and sends Page into the steps. Page side steps a charge and Tremont hits the stairs this time. Page now setting for a piledriver on the steps. Actually winds up being on the apron, from the steps going up. Didn’t look amazing but that’s a lot of man flesh to try and sit on the apron.
Tremont down in the ring, Page up top and he hits the swanton. Cover gets three!
Rating: 3/5. Let me tell you how weird wrestling has gotten, I thought for a hot second that that finish felt “sudden,” then I remembered the FUCKING PILEDRIVER ON THE APRON that set up the swanton finish and realized I’d gone plum crazy, that’s a perfectly logical fucking finish, you insane person. Otherwise the match was about exactly what I expected, Page’s usual solid outing and Tremont being a fun brawler adversary for him.
